Meet the Leadership Team- Shayla Hertz
Our next Leadership Team introduction is Shayla Hertz. Shayla is serving her first year on the board of directors and will be in charge of our mentorship program. We are happy to have her join the organization and bring her agriculture background to the group!
Question 1- Where are you from?
Edenwold, SK but recently relocated to St. Walburg, SK
Question 2- What do you do?
I am the thinkAG Manager for Agriculture in the Classroom Canada, where I work on initiatives that encourage and allow Canadian students to explore careers in the agriculture and agri-food sector
Question 3- Why did you join WIA?
Women have a unique ability to significantly influence the public’s perception of agriculture in a positive way, and generate awareness as to the importance of mental and physical health, and farm safety, just to name a few. I want to be part of the team that continues to build off of the efforts and achievements of Saskatchewan women before us, who have been instrumental in advancing agriculture locally, nationally and globally.
Question 4- What you do in your spare time? OR A Fun Fact about yourself OR Your favourite Made in Canada product.
My time is filled with visiting family and friends, playing volleyball and hockey, exercising, learning about global food production, and preparing and enjoying FOOD with and for others!
